Say What? We Are Too Broke To Fight Corruption – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday cried out in Abuja that it urgently needs capital injection from the government before its operations are crippled, completely.
Things are so tight for the EFCC that the Secretary of the Board had to open up. He said: "If we can pay salary this month, that is all. That is the position under which we operate."
EFCC Board Secretary, Emmanuel Aremo, said this at the public hearing on the Bill seeking to establish the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Agency (NFIA). Aremo added that EFCC had been cash-strapped to the extent that it had less than N2 million in its account.

If an important agency like EFCC is not given the funds needed to operate, how can they fight corruption?
