Santa Breezy: Chris Brown Gives Under Priviledged Children Gifts

Breezy has had a rough year. From his break-up with off and On girlfriend Rihanna, going to Rehab and his numerous run-in(s) with then Police. Still Chris took the opportunity of the season to give back to deserving young kids by organizing a Christmas toy drive for underprivileged youths. Not only was his effort truly appreciated by the children who got wonderful gifts for the holidays, Chris felt a sense of ‘freedom’ from giving back.

Chris Brown got into the holiday spirit and hosted his first annual toy drive for kids at Brooklyn Projects in L.A. on Dec. 22. Fans got a one-on-one meet and greet with Chris when they brought along a Christmas present to donate. Chris was thrilled at just how many people showed up to support him and his cause, including his friends Kevin Hart and Tyga! Chris was so surprised to see his fan turnout in support of the charity, given his rehab situation, a source told.

Chris, 24, was so happy that he had such a wonderful turnout at his event — and the enormous pile of about 1500 toys for deserving children is a very visual representation of the toy drive’s success! Chris tweeted: Chris “felt good being able to give back, being able to be around his friends, his family, and his fans,” a source close to Chris revealed ”He had a bomb time and even though he was on tight restraints [because he was on a break from rehab], he lived for [it]. He smelled freedom and was able to live his life and give back to others. He felt freedom being around his crew and being around all his fans and the people who love him.”

The toys were delivered to the Los Angeles Mission, 2nd Call — a violence reduction program in South L.A. — and three area fire stations. “I remember my parents sometimes struggling to put gifts under the tree for me as a kid so I feel for parents that struggle and especially for the kids,” Dom DeLuca of Brooklyn Projects said. ”After Chris helped out with my Philippines Typhoon Relief efforts a few moths ago, it just made sense to ask him to participate in the Toy Drive. He’s been a part of Brooklyn Projects since he was 17.” Chris Brown Humbled By Fans’ Support The most important thing for Chris was that his fans were there to show him the love. “They showed him that they cared and loved him no matter what people be saying about him,” a source told HollywoodLife.com. “Everybody that met him was like ‘yo Chris, we love you. We love and support you.’ All he said was ‘Merry Christmas’ and ‘thank you.’” In addition to being thankful for the Christmas donations, Chris was “really thankful just to know he still [has] love and that he still has a fan base,” the source explained.
