Diaries Of A Fake Deep Guy: Finding Faith.

God, defined as a supreme being, the ultimate ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority. As a child born into a Muslim family that explanation sounded legitimate enough. Natural instinct was to be a Muslim too, because as African children we were taught our elders had all the answers, well that worked for a while for me. 

My first dilemma started after I started to understand the meaning and implication of the 9/11 attacks. Despite the conspiracy rumours/ theories surrounding the attacks, the Muslim community was in an uproar. Disputes over whose wishes al-Qaeda was carrying out, opinions were formed, sides were taken. The Islamic world had too many questions it couldn't answer. Muslims around the world were abused, stigmatized and killed. For me, 9/11 was just a mere news headline. What it did to me was spark up curiosity. Curiosity that led me to research deeper into other controversial or unpopular Islamic doctrines. The question of forgiveness, female rights, basic human freedom, and constraints of human rights. The religion itself is a constitution to its own nation and its influence on an individual's life is total and whole. Clearly even the so-called "Religion of Peace" was flawed. 

Still a half hearted devout Muslim, my second dilemma was a result of attending a quasi-missionary school when my family moved again for the umpteenth time. Sitting in CRK class, Chapel and Sunday services I started to saunter towards Christianity. More of curiosity than faith. I learned quickly that very similar to Islam and all other monotheistic religions, there's a confirmation of a single supreme being with power and control over all creatures. Despite clarity on my former statement, the Bible itself got more and more confusing the deeper I got, questions I could never ask for fear of blaspheming came to my mind. I remember one time a friend of mine quoted sometimes it feels "like reading the diary of a mad man". There were so many contradictory claims about accounts of similar events. More than anything my mind was boggled by the concern that despite the fact that Jesus taught us to better our lives and that of those around us, the Roman leaders after his death might have exaggerated his divinity because of their political propaganda. Christianity was a spreading religion and of course the Roman leaders wanted to lay their claim to the throne of its origin if this growing religion became a theological super-power. To further assist the assimilation of the religion, after Christianity was made the official religion for Rome, the leaders converted pagan gods worship times and dates to that of the new Christian God. So they still get to celebrate on their pagan dates, just to a new God this time. And all these is barely scratching the surface. I learnt that Christianity in its entirety has a really dark past after Jesus' death that the modern Christian world chooses to ignore because of their emotional attachment to the faith and that's what led me to my third dilemma. Logic.

You see, Logic provides all the answers. Common sense works like magic. It explains everything. You look at everything subjectively, believe only the possible and nullify the rest. I lived within this deduction and hence concluded that there was no such thing as a god, because it was a completely illogical Belief. For awhile. 

Well, you see, unlike every twitter atheist that became one after reading Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, I quickly grew weary of logic's derivations. There were still questions logic couldn't answer. If there was no God what of occurrences like luck, chance or grace that could only simply be explained as an act of a supernatural being? Using logic to address issues related to God seemed a lot like cowering away from questions our minds were too boggled to answer yet calling the only available explanations mediocre because we are afraid of subjecting to the great unknown. Theology explains most of these things to us, gives us an explanation for life and death and even the great beyond.  I concluded that eventually we may have to admit, there are just somethings we are not supposed to understand. This led me to my final dilemma. 

These days I have come to the conclusion that there is a God. Although I am still boggled by why there are so many ways to reach him even though we all recognize he is one and only and I still have no major religion or system of belief, I  am still certain there is definitely a God. Naturally theological discussions are the worst because we humans always cloak our ignorance under our emotional attachment to whatever religion we believe in, nullifying the rest. Despite the fact that everyone of us is only living on hopes and promises of divine grace oblivious of the fact that we may not be on the right path ourselves. That's why I consider people that criticize one faith at the expense of glorifying the other as the stupidest people in the world.

In conclusion I believe there is a God because realistically a phenomenon being deemed illogical doesn't always mean it's not true likewise an ideology being thoughtfully logical doesn't mean it can't be wrong. You see, I believe that religion solely thrives on faith. Faith is defined in the religious context as a strong belief in God or religious doctrines based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. This goes to say that If the existence of God and a belief system was logical, religion wouldn't need faith. All religious clerics will strive for will be convincing their congregations with plausible explanations backed by hard facts rather than the promise of a divine miracle, heaven or grace from a higher power. This would also easily translate miracles don't exist, which I think we can all categorically say is a completely invalid statement. Faith itself Is the beauty of miracles. This is because If we could "divinely" explain every single occurrence that happened to us, it wouldn't be a miracle anymore, life would be ordinary and human actions or inactions will lose its meaning too easily. 

There may be doubts about the complexities about the mechanism of how God works, questions of how he came to be, or even questions about why there are seemingly so many religions and belief systems to reach him through. But that shouldn't invalidate his existence because miracles are evident enough. Except you're not doing something as minut as breathing right now, you have no right to say miracles don't exist.

TECH: How To Speed Up Your Computer's Boot Time Without Using Any Software

Most programs set themselves to be loaded immediately we boot up thereby slowing down the time a computer uses to boot. Luckily for us, Windows has provided an option to select the programs that will be allowed to launch at boot time.

HOW TO REDUCE WINDOW’s BOOT TIME 

1. Click the Start button, and type 'msconfig' without quotes.

2. A dialog as shown below will pop up.

3. Click on Startup. This will show you the applications set to startup when the computer boots. 

4. To reduce the boot time, uncheck all unnecessary applications and leave only the necessary applications such as antivirus.

5. Click on Apply and then OK. To save immediately, select Restart. To continue with whatever you were doing and save the settings on the next shutdown, click Exit without Restart.

NOTE: Screenshots in this tutorial are from a computer running Windows 7 Professional. The steps also work on Windows 8.

VERDICT: This procedure reduced the boot time of my Windows 7 Computer from 15seconds to 9 seconds. Please don’t uncheck necessary applications such as the Antivirus so as to not leave your computer prone to viruses at startup.

Human Right activist Femi Falana's son in-law Juwon Majekodumi died on Sunday while on holiday with his wife Folakemi Falana Majekodunmi and family in Dubai. He died on Sunday but the cause of his death is yet to be disclosed by his family.

13 Year old Boy Commits Suicide By Hanging in Ondo [See Photo]

A 13 year old primary five pupil, Awal Osisi has committed suicide in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

But the police in the state is working at some puzzles surrounding the alleged death of the boy just as his step mother is being detained.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the boy committed suicide in his parents’ house located at High School area of Akure.

Awal was allegedly found in his parents’ room hanging by the door on Wednesday by using a belt to hang himself.

His step mother Mrs Rukayat Osisi reportedly raised alarm at about 10.00am when she discovered the dangling body of the boy in the room.


Rukayat a petty trader. claimed that she found the body of Awal in the room having committed suicide.

However, the police in the state is suspecting foul play, wondering why the step mother brought down the alleged dangling body of the boy before informing the police.
The woman was said to have gone to the ‘A’ Division at about 1.35 pm to report that her step-son was found dead in the room after killing himself.

Rukayat said she discovered the body of the boy in the room after he hanged himself with a belt tied to the handle of the door. She said she had to remove the corpse of the deceased and take it to the State specialist hospital in Akure before reporting the incident at the police station.

However, reports gathered from the community showed that Awal has always been a victim of victimisation, oppression and child abuse by his father and the step- mother since his mother divorced the father some years ago.

Saturday Vanguard learnt that the step-mother together with the father has always been maltreating the boy and sending him on difficult errands.

It was learnt that the father works outside Akure and comes to Akure every weekend.

The father, it was gathered seized the boy’s school uniform and books following a report from the wife that the deceased misbehaved while the father was away in his station.

Destructive Instinct is not selling as expected because marketers have increased the price. Instead of selling it N300, they sell it between N500- N1000. Meanwhile, Candy wants every Nigerian to have a copy of it, because of what she did in it, lol. So she announced on Facebook that they shouldn’t buy it more than N300. They've really thought me a big lesson now that I know Nigeria is ready for me, I will bring in my foreign Partners and let's do this motherf*cker. They will never smell my projects again if they keep up with this sh*t.

How did you get into the entertainment world especially being a VJ?

I got into the entertainment industry as soon as I moved back to Nigeria from the UK. I had been away for about 11 years, so moving back was a major step and decision. While I was in the UK, I had delved into various extracurricular activities apart from law school and my education in general. I was into dancing, acting, public speaking and so I knew that once I moved back, the aim would be to put all my skills to work. Within the first few months I was back in Nigeria, I heard that Soundcity was hiring, I did a screen test, my boss liked what I brought to the table and here I am.

There were reports that you had a sex tape, how true is that?

Now this truly has to end. I know nothing about it.

You have some bikini photos online, for what price can you strip in front of the camera?

I don't see why having a bikini photo is such a big deal but I guess that's just me. Neither do I see how being comfortable in your own skin and going to the pool/beach in your bikini correlates with you being comfortable to strip completely nude. I can't give you a price because in all honesty, I would never strip or pose completely nude; that is just extreme.

You have been rumoured to have amorous relationship with the likes of Don jazzy, DR SID, May D, rappers Terry tha Rapman, M.I, Loose Kaynon, Beazy and producer Kid Konnect. Did you date any of them?

We are back to the rumours again. Well to clear the air, I didn't date any of these men. I'm friends with all of them and I may be closer to some more than others. But it is and has been nothing but friendship. I've actually always wondered how this list was put together as there are some names amongst this 'list' that I haven't spoken to in months.

You flaunt your butts a lot. Would you say that is your sexiest body part?

Again it's the blogs. I don't go out of my way to put up pictures of my "booty."  I have other pictures but it's just those ones they choose to talk about. I don't think it is my sexiest body part mainly because I don't consider myself sexy or a sex symbol but if there was a part of my body I would say I found sexy, I would say my small waist.

BREAKING: Olusegun Obasanjo Finally Dumps PDP, Decamps To APC

When OluFamous reported last last year that President Olusegun Obasanjo is tired of the PDP just like many Nigerians are, some didn't believe. But alas! the deed is done and Baba Iyabo is out of PDP:

At a time we had thought that the season of controversy-stirring letters among political players, particularly key leaders in the country, is over, another bombshell has been released. And it comes from Obasanjo. 

The latest letter is not, as many may have expected, to the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan, but to Alhaji Bamanga Tukur the chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party to which he belongs. According to reliable sources, in the one-page letter written on Thursday, a copy of which was sent to the president, Obasanjo declared that he would cease to be a member of the party or participate in any political activities at any level.

His decision is hinged on what he described as the handing over of the authority of PD, in the South-West, and particularly, his home state, Ogun, to the chairman of PDP South West Mobilisation and Organisation Committee, Buruji Kashamu. 

Declaring Kashamu as unfit for any leadership post in the party, he described him as a drug baron who has cases to answer in the United States of America. The sources said the former president said with such a person as Kashamu in the leadership position of the party, he had no choice but to opt.

To buttress his point, Obasanjo was said to have attached some documents to prove his claim that Kashamu is indeed a drug baron. 

For now, it appears Obasanjo is happy with the APC due to the way its governor is developing Ogun State.
