Rapper Eminem has been named Artist of Year at the inaugural YouTube Music Awards.
The awards ceremony held in New York on Sunday featured a number of celebrity cameos with Jason Schwartzman and musician Reggie Watts presiding.
The innovative event, streamed live on the video sharing website, featured Eminem, Lady Gaga and M.I.A making live music videos, according to the BBC.
Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble took the YouTube 'Phenomenon award.'
YouTube views, likes, comments and subscription figures were used to help choose nominees.
Lady Gaga performed her new song Dope at the awards - having tweeted a picture of the cover of the single, which is the final promo from her new album ARTPOP.
Video of the Year award went to South Korean girl group K Pop for their song I Got A Boy, while Innovation of the Year went to DeStorm Power, according to the BBC.
