TECH: Download Youtube Videos On Mobile And Pc Without Using Any Software In Two Easy Steps

Some months back, I wrote a how-to article on downloading Youtube using a website called Savefrom (read here). Well, I received some complaints that this doesn't work all the time and some download links on the site does not work.

Here's another method that I personally think is easier and faster.

Download Youtube Videos Using The 'pwn' Tweak

1. Open the Youtube Video page whose video you want to download. e.g.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w705LL0JmCU

Check your browser's address bar (either or mobile on a computer) and change the www. in the link to pwn (as pictured below).

http://pwnyoutube.com/watch?v=w705LL0JmCU

2. You will be redirected to an external website where you can choose whichever formats of the video suits you. You also have the option to download the audio from the Youtube video just in case you want the audio alone.

WRITER'S ADVICE: This 'pwn' method is much easier than the Savefrom method and is highly recommended.

YouTube Music Awards Full List Of Winners and Nominees

YouTube, the only relevant source for new music videos online, recently launched its own award ceremony to reward outstanding artistes. The maiden edition of the YouTube Music Awards aired on a live stream yesterday (November 3rd). The awards show featured performances by Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Earl Sweatshirt, Eminem, among others. The event was hosted by thesp Jason Schwartzman and comedian Reggie Watts.
YouTube, revealed the nominees were selected based purely on YouTube data from the last 1 year, and every time someone watched, shared, liked, or subscribed, you helped determine the final list. One area where the YTMAs did shine and stand out against its MTV rival was their relatively messy and unpredictable setup and creative director Spike Jonze’s picks for live performances; let’s see if the VMAs ever put  Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler the Creator on the line up to perform. Kim and Kanye Sue YouTube Co-Founder For Releasing Proposal Video

The Kimye couple has been in the news this past week so many times its almost sickening. In this most recent news, its revealed that the couple are pressing charges against Chad Hurley, a co-founder of YouTube and who sold it to Google for $1.65 billion dollars.

According to the couple Hurley wasn't even invited to the proposal at the AT&T San Francisco baseball stadium, but he manipulated himself into the arena. The couple let him stay after he agreed and signed a confidentiality statement.

Kim said  "Hurley proceeded to try to turn the event into one starring himself, broadcasting the images he knew were the exclusive property rights of someone else." The internet mogul supposedly posted his video on his new video viewing website MixBit, tweeted the link to over a million followers and even issued a press released in pride of his video trophy.

Kim and Kanye are suing for unspecified damages ... including punitives.  Even though Kim and Kanye don't say how much the video was worth, they mention it was destined for MC Cable Television, which is an arm of Bunim/Murray and E!, which produces and broadcasts "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

TECH: How To Download Videos From Youtube, Other Video-Sharing Sites

That said there are numerous unrestricted sources of streamed video on the web and a lot of websites and utilities that can download this type of media onto your PC or media device. Listed below are examples of utilities to use.

1. Savefrom (www.savefrom.net). All you have to do is copy and paste the web address of the video clip, click the Download button, select the required format and resolution and the file download will begin.The main advantage of this website is that it can be used on mobile as well as on a PC.

2. Another very easy way is the use of download managers such as Internet Download Manager (which i really recommend and love) which can be downloaded from  www.internetdownloadmanager.com and Free Download Manager (which is totally free) that can be downloaded from www.freedownloadmanager.org which puts a popup on the video that allows you to download the video in any format.(See image above)
