YouTube Music Awards Full List Of Winners and Nominees

YouTube, the only relevant source for new music videos online, recently launched its own award ceremony to reward outstanding artistes. The maiden edition of the YouTube Music Awards aired on a live stream yesterday (November 3rd). The awards show featured performances by Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, M.I.A., Earl Sweatshirt, Eminem, among others. The event was hosted by thesp Jason Schwartzman and comedian Reggie Watts.
YouTube, revealed the nominees were selected based purely on YouTube data from the last 1 year, and every time someone watched, shared, liked, or subscribed, you helped determine the final list. One area where the YTMAs did shine and stand out against its MTV rival was their relatively messy and unpredictable setup and creative director Spike Jonze’s picks for live performances; let’s see if the VMAs ever put  Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler the Creator on the line up to perform. For the first time, the awards were held at the new £125 million Hydro arena which opened with a series of Rod Stewart gigs less than a month ago.

Celebrities, including Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt, Waterloo star Chelsee Healey and musician Jazzie B, took to the red carpet alongside bands Stooshe, Rudimental, and former Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan (also known as MKS) as well as X-factor finalist Jahmene Douglas, who braved the rain to attend the bling event.

Joining them were stars including Craig David, Gabrielle, Ms Dynamite and John Newman, dance troupe Diversity as well as host MOBO founder Kanya King and BBC 1Xtra’s Trevor Nelson, who co-hosted the event alongside fellow-presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford.

The crowds were also treated to performances from the likes of Rudimental, Ms Dynamite, Fuse ODG, Jahmene Douglas, Tinie Tempah, Iggy Azalea and Naughty Boy.
