Hafiz Oyetoro Converses About His Life (INTERVIEW)

Hafiz Oyetoro who lately turned 50 in an interview converses about his life, family and more.

How do you seem being celebrated at 50?

I seem so cooling. I feel appreciative to Almighty God for giving me the grace to come to 50. I understand that many persons have gone even without coming to the age of 20. 50 years marks a new starting and I thank God that today I can be alive to glimpse 50.

How did portraying start for you?

As an aspiring actor, when I completed lesser school, I begun with a localized theatre assembly in my town, Iseyin. From there, I went to University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University to study spectacular Arts for my first degree. I later went to University of Ibadan for my Masters degree in African investigations. I am presently chasing a PHD events in presentation investigations at the University of Ibadan. I’m certain you already understand that I also address in the Theatre creative pursuits Department of the Adeniran Ogunsanya school of Education. During all that process, I got myself engaged in different productions on TV, movie and wireless. It’s been very interesting so far and I thank God for giving me the grace to boost in my selected area.

How has the journey been so far?

I should state it’s been rather a ride with so numerous years of forfeitures. I express gratitude God that he has granted me the grace to proceed through all of the challenges and to achieve the little that I have through these years. I understand there is still a allotment to accomplish but it’s been large excursion so far.

How was growing up for you?

I arrive from a very humble backdrop. I increased up in a town in Iseyin, that’s Oyo State. My parents were ranchers. They taught me to be contented with what I have. I am who I am because of the standards that they have impacted in me. I just express gratitude God that I’m a distinct story today.

What would you state is responsible for your latest achievement?

It is God. God has been very magnificent to me. God has been there for me and my family. He has granted me the grace to be affiliated with great people. What are some of the trials that you have had to proceed through to get to where you are today?

When you say challenges, to me, they are essential components to live a better life. trials really make room for persons to move farther in life, to seek for more worth and to augment. trials are just mere disruptions. That is why I say I am thanking God for giving me the grace to surmount all the challenges, to resist all the lure and to explain all the urgent situation of life.

What motivated your porting from Etisalat to MTN?

All I can say is that both emblems, Etisalat and MTN are fantastic emblems and they are my friends.

Why do you think these telecoms businesses have chosen you?

I really don’t know. I was just engaged doing my thing and then they came. I believe everybody aspires for good things. We all yearn for an elevation in rank, but how it may arrive, we occasionally don’t understand. The only interpretation I can give is to say that it has been the grace of God.

How much did you get for the MTN deal?

I would not converse about that. I would only converse about that much subsequent at the appropriate time.

Do you think people now commemorate and recognize more for your MTN endorsement than for your portraying?

I believe it more of what I have been doing and God’s grace. I think it is more of everything. And I’m fortuitous to have worked with MTN and Etisalat.

I have a very attractive woman for a wife. A woman who has made the dwelling my home. Every time I proceed out, I want to proceed back dwelling. I habitually feel happy to proceed dwelling. She’s habitually been there for me. She’s more of my ally, my mother, my sister, everything. I thank God who has given me the grace to have a woman who shares my vision.

As a lecturer, do you ever find yourself in a position where your scholars do not take you gravely because of your comic functions on TV?

My students genuineise the distinction between acting and genuine life. They are Theater creative pursuits students of course and so they should understand better. They understand the distinction between Saka and Mr. Oyetoro. Saka is the player, while Mr. Oyetoro is the lecturer. They have learnt to habitually draw a line between the two.

Now that you are 50, what should your followers be anticipating from you?

They should anticipate more productive and positive assistance to the commerce from me. I actually want to proceed into television output. I understand there are challenges in making movies in Nigeria, but fundamentally I am more snug with television output. currently we have begun with a television production and we wish to put it on air before the end of this year.

How would you recount the present state of the amusement commerce?

It’s been encouraging. In those days when our senior colleagues begun, they were not well considered. They were seen as never-do-wells but today, things have altered. persons are dwelling off theatre. persons are dwelling off amusement. contemplating our productions here and there, for about two years now, Nigeria has graded second in the world in terms of output. That means we are productive. Of course we will not be compared to Hollywood because of the lack of amenities and the trials of the natural environment that we have discovered ourselves, but I accept as true that in the next few years, we are going to be there.

whereas in the past, commitment in terms of what we make was far better. These days, financial standards are more of paramount interest, but I accept as true that as time moves on, we will proceed back and start to believe about content. Our stories are good. We have tales to tell but the way to notify it is our difficulty. I’m very sure we are going to find the right way to notify it one day.
