Apply Within : Queen of UK To Pay $31k To Watch Her Clocks

If you’ve got some time on your hands, why not apply for this job working for the Queen?
Buckingham Palace is on the hunt for a Royal Horological Conservator – someone to wind up her 1,000 clocks and check they are always accurate.

Clockwatchers should apply – it comes with a £31,200 salary.
One of the biggest tasks every year will be to help change the clocks when they go forward in March and back again in October.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the conservation, restoration and maintenance of timepieces in the Royal Collection, which range from turret clocks to pocket watches at all royal residences around the country.
He or she will be based at Buckingham Palace and look after clocks at nearby St James’s Palace and Clarence House, but will also have to travel between Windsor Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Balmoral and Sandringham.
“Principally based at Buckingham Palace, the post-holder will be required to travel to all royal residences,” the advert states.
The job, posted on the Queen’s official website , requires a clock expert who is “experienced at working with hand and machine tools” and who has the ability to “strip and clean mechanisms, make new parts”.
And not surprisingly there are certain key requirements... applicants must be a good timekeeper with “an ability to work to strict deadlines.”
