Most Expensive Diamond"Pink Star" Finally Sold For £51.8million At Auction

Yesterday we reported that The Pink Star Diamond valued at 35million pounds was to be put on auction at Sotheby in Geneva, Switzerland. We can authoritatively report that the diamond has been bought at £51758104.74 (appro. £51.8million). The man who bought it reportedly said he was buying on behalf of an anonymous person whom he represented and did not give his own name also. 

The sale officially makes the Pink Star a recognised world record as the most expensive diamond ever sold.

The Pink Star

The 59.60 carat diamond pictured above is called The Pink Star and was put on sale at an auction yesterday in Geneva, Switzerland. The diamond was valued at 37million pounds. 

Cut in a sleek oval shape, the diamond is the largest internally flawless Fancy Vivid pink diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America.
